Performance

A native of Moscow, Ruslan Usaev is a clarinetist performing in the French tradition of Guy Deplus. His performance credentials include multiple solo recitals across Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and the United States.

Ruslan has won awards at the International Clarinetists Competition in Kazan (2019), the XI International Competition “Music and Word” in Moscow (2022), the X International Chamber Music and Piano Ensembles Competition “Music of a Duet” in Moscow (2022), the Manhattan International Music Competition in New York (2023), and the MTNA National Competition (2024).

Since 2022, Ruslan has been regularly invited to perform in the Moscow Philharmonic programs. He graduated from the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music and is now pursuing a master’s degree at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts on a full scholarship.
